Heel Pain

Heel Pain Diagnosis and Treatment

If you are experiencing pain in your heels, you may have Plantar Fasciitis. This condition is most common with people who are either overweight, pregnant, or if you wear shoes that have inadequate support. Plantar Fasciitis causes pain in the heel as a result of a tight or strained plantar fascia tendon. A heel spur is a calcium deposit that causes a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel bone. It can also cause sharp pain in the heel, but this is more rare. Causes of heel pain include achilles tendinitis, achilles tendon rupture, bone tumor, bursitis, heel spur, osteomyelitis and more.

If you are experiencing a stabbing pain in your heel, typically when you take your first steps in the morning, give Mountain Home Podiatry a call. Let’s get you back on the road to recovery today!
